Elmo Andrew Pace

May 31, 1929 — February 25, 2020

Elmo Andrew Pace was born in St. Bethlehem Tennessee on May 31, 1929 to the late Lewis Pace Sr. and Leona Mallory Pace. Elmo passed on to Glory February 25, 2020 while at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded in the love of his family.
He attended Burt High School in Clarksville Tennessee. Proceeding him in death is 2 wives, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 son.
Elmo worked as a Sharecropper for a few years, then he married his high school sweetheart Bessie Ogburn in which they had six children added to that union, Robert Pace (Della), Laurice Lee (William Sr.), Lauretta Pace, Patricia Williams (Robert), Brent Pace and Brenda Shepperd.
He left Clarksville for a better job opportunity in Evansville, IN. in 1950, to secure employment for his family. He worked for two years at International Harvester Company and three years at L&N Railroad Company. He got laid off for a period and then gained employment with Chrysler. Chrysler company moved to Fenton Missouri in September 1959, where he was transferred. Elmo worked at Chrysler as a Metal Finisher, where he retired in 1983 and started his own business “Pace & Son.” After his wife Bessie Pace passed in1996, he moved back to Evansville and married his second wife Stella Faulkner and worked at the Evansville Museum as Security for 16 years until retiring from there as well. Elmo was a hardworking man all his life that loved and valued family.
Elmo loved fishing, hunting, bowling, checkers, pool, watching sports and going to Carver Senior Center. Elmo was a member of First Baptist Church in Kirkwood MO., as a Superintendent of Sunday School. Once he moved back to Evansville IN., he joined Seventh Street Baptist Church in Henderson KY, with the honorary Dr. Anthony Brooks as Pastor. He was a faithful member until the Lord called him home. Elmo was an honorable mason, he served as Worshipful Master in William H. Ashcraft Lodge #6, and he was constituted as a thirty-second-degree masonry.
Elmo leaves to cherish in his memory, One brother (James Willie), Eight grandchildren (Robin Woolfolk (Martin), Robert Pace Jr. (Tanya), Manuelita Williams, William Lee Jr. Tamika Pace, Darrell Lee (Stephanie), Andrew Williams (Marena) and Anthony Shepperd), all of whom he was proud of. Thirteen Great grandkids (Keith Jr., Robert III, Brennen, Blake, Kameron, Tionne, Teja, Gabrail, Myson, William III, Andrew Jr., Andrea, and Harper). One great great grandchild (Zuri), and One God child he raised (Aryana Williams). Also, a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends, ALL in which he loved dearly!
Visitation will be Saturday, 9 to 11am with funeral service to begin at 11:00 at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Henderson, KY
