Earline Martin Johnson 86, of Evansville, IN went home to be with the Lord Sunday April 27, 2014 at Hamilton Pointe Health & Rehabilitation Center of Newburgh, IN with her family by her side.
Earline married the love of her life Emeritus Superintendent Robert Lee Johnson Sr. September 22, 1946 and to this union 12 children were born.
Earline held various jobs outside of her home. However, she loved raising her children and grandchildren the most.
Earline enjoyed cooking, singing, sewing, shopping, landscaping, decorating, traveling, and attending church activities.
Earline confessed her belief in Christ and was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at a young age. She loved serving and praising the Lord. She was the First Lady Emerita of Johnson's Temple C.O.G.I.C.
She served in numerous distinguished capacities in the church, but she will be most remembered as being the District Missionary of the Greater Southern District of the 2nd Jurisdiction of the State of Indiana.
Earline was well know and well loved in the community and she never met a stranger. She was always giving back to the community by giving monetary gifts and feeding the less fortunate. She was a true servant leader.
She was a very special person to all who knew her. She was highly respected by all she came in contact with.
She is survived by her 8 children. Sons; all of Evansville, IN, Robert Jr. (Doris) Johnson; Ralph (Rena) Johnson; Elder Samuel (Penny) Johnson; Tommie (Brigette) Johnson; and Bishop David (Angela) Johnson of Jeffersonville, IN daughters; Lula "Lu" (Jake Sr.) Porter of Evansville, IN, Ruth ( Elder Alvin Sr.) Haygan of Henderson, KY, Annette (Andrew) Paris of Princeton, IN and 40 grandchildren, 30 great-grand children and a 2 great-great grand children.
She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers.
Earline was proceded in death by her husband of 59 years; two sons, Alex Johnson Sr. and Joseph Johnson and two daughters Patricia Johnson and Earline Tramil.
Visitations will be from 3pm - 8pm on Thursday May 1st 2014 at Osbourne Funeral Home 702 Gum St. Funeral service will begin at 11am on Friday May 2nd 2014 at Memorial Baptist Church 645 Canal St.
