Earl Ray Carter Sr. 78, passed away in his home on May 20, 2018. Earl was born on April 25, 1940 in Evansville, IN.to Marion and Ida Mae Wilson Carter.
He retired from Berry Plastics and worked various other jobs.
Earl was a talk smack kind of guy to all that knew and loved him. Never one to hold bars, what came out of his mouth was it. He was funny and even when he was not as funny you always knew Earl was there. Earl knew everyone and never met a stranger, if you didn’t know him before you knew him after a conversation with him. He loved to do everything but really enjoyed singing old school hymns, fishing and hunting. Most of all Earl loved his family, all the way till the end.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosa Blackwell Carter, sister Patricia Carter, brother Marion Carter Jr.
Earl leaves to cherish fond memories his daughters; Lorraine Powell. Bridget Carter, Gidget Venson, Mary Tapp, Rachel Kunze, Sons; Earl Carter Jr., Richard Tapp, Joshua Carter, Also Patrick and Roseanna Blackwell whom he raised as his own, Sisters and Brothers; Margaret Carter, Lottie Thomas, Lola Walls, Betsy Payne, Mildred Compton(Joe), Mary Ann Carter, Bettie Carter, Sue King(Michael), Darleen Carter, Norman Carter, Marion Carter, Jerry Carter, Ray Carter, Joseph Carter, Anthony Carter.

Visitation will be Friday June 1, 2018 from 9am-11am at Memorial Baptist Church 645 Canal St Evansville, Service at 11am. Pastor Adrian M. Brooks officiating. Final care has been entrusted to Osborne Funeral Home.
