Dorothy Marie Grant

Dorothy Marie Grant left us Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Linda White Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. She was born March 1, 1955 to Vedell Grant and Mary Hurt.
Dorothy graduated from Harrison high school and furthered education in the healthcare field. She was very passionate about being a CNA and loved taking care of her patient. She worked for a number of nursing facilities in Evansville and she had also worked for AARP. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She truly loved her family.
Dorothy loved to crack jokes and had a mouth as sharp as a razor and had no problem saying these two things: “To have a good year you have 6 months to mind your own business and 6 months to stay out of mine” and “I didn’t bite my tongue when I had 32 teeth and sure won’t stop now that I have none.
Dorothy gave her life to God at an early age and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Vedell Grant and mother Mary Hurt and sisters; Rose and Geneva.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Son; Demarkco "Tony" (Anita King) Pegue and daughters; Tameka “MeMe” (Scoot) Lloyd and Nakeshia McNary, sisters; Iona Grant and Brenda Dean, brothers; Terry Clements (Becky), Lucian Clements, Tim Clements, Billy Clements (Kay) and Tyrone Clay, grandchildren; Jakiya Rapier, Ky’Shaun Pegue, De’Shaur Pegue, Kyn’Terrion Pegue, Det’Triauna Pegue and Tre’Onquai Pegue, Brittany Quarles, JayVontae Kelly Luscius Lloyd Jr., La’Tavion Lloyd, Landon Lloyd, Jakiyah Thomas and J’Rome Streeter, brother in law; Robert Townsend, 4 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
