Doris Jean Bell was born in Clarksville, TN on October 6, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents Raphael and Lorraine (Bell) Howard, her biological father Ewing Harris, and by her husband Norberto Hardin.
Doris was baptized at an early age. She confessed Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and developed a real, living relationship with Him. She was a lifelong member of Memorial Baptist Church, and served on the Nurses Guild and Mother’s Board. Doris Jean was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1953
Doris enjoyed being a wife and mother, spending time with family, reading, cooking, crocheting and gardening. She was always a fountain of good advice and wisdom. Doris enjoyed dressing, smelling and looking good and was definitely a fashionista. She was employed at Kruckemeyer & Cohn, Welborn Hospital, Cal State Northridge, Gibraltar Savings of CA and retired from the Evansville Civic Center Complex. She was a great sister, a great mother, a great friend and a great cook.
Doris leaves to cherish her memory: her children Gregory Cox (Robin), Lewis Cox (Melantha), Jeffery Cox, Lori Gregory (Wayne); step-children Tamika Hardin, Norberto Hardin and Kristopher Hardin; her siblings Carolyn Outlaw (Clay), Janice Coleman, Gloria Draper, Raphael Curtis Howard, Marilyn Miller (Al) and Patricia Tsari; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, grand children, great grand children and a great, great grandchild. She also leaves behind many friends both old and new.
