Donald William Johnson, 83, passed away on November 29, 2021, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. Donald was born to the late Tale Walden and Addie Thurman on November 9, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana.
Donald was a retired Veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army and was very proud of his service. He enjoyed time with his military family. Donald was a life member of VFW 696, Am Vets Post 75, American Legion, and the Shriners. As well as a member of the Cooties and was a mason at Carthaw Temple. Donald attended Fourth Street Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY. He had spent his career working and retired from Whirlpool. In his retirement worked as a guard for Night Hawk Security at Glenmmor Distillery.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; wife Anna Johnson; sister, MarAy Miles; nieces, Garnetta Meriwether, Pam Miles, Revetta McFarland, Marjorie Williams, Ardella Odom, and Odessa
He leaves fond memories to stepson, Waylon Morton; stepdaughters, Judy Morton, Cynthia Morton, Amy Morton; great great-nephew and caregiver; Lawrence Meriwether; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 from 10 to 11a.m. with funeral to follow at 11:00a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home. Osborne has final care.
