IIn Remembrance of Donald "Bucky" Harrison Jr.

Bucky was the son of Donald Harrison Sr. and Bettye Rucker (Rev. Jackson C. Rucker). Bucky's sun rose on August 9, 1960, and set on March 3, 2024.

Bucky graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in 1978. He previously worked for St. Mary's Hospital, Hook’s Oxygen Medical Equipment and retired in 2021 from T. J. Maxx. Bucky was a true servant leader to many families in the community. He delivered medical equipment to families who eagerly looked forward to
seeing him and having long conversations together. He treated everyone with great respect. With that he was awarded the prestigious St. Mary’s Employee of the Year Award. Everyone knew Bucky as a fun and outgoing person, always joking and was an exemplary employee and never missed a day of work. He gave over 100% at all of his jobs. He was a young "Buck" and was into working out and staying fit. His hobbies included fishing and watching football. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. He was also a very neat and his favorite pastime was spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.

Bucky was preceded in death by his father Donald Harrison Sr., Stepfather Rev Jackson C. Rucker, grandparents James and Melissa Duffy, his beloved sister Deanna Renee Harrison, and aunts Peggy Gaines, Cecile Wilson, Sharon Thomas, Melissa Duffy-Barron and Susan Gathings, uncles Kevin Stewart Sr. and Wendell Gathings.

Bucky leaves to cherish his mother Bettye Rucker, son Emmanuel Harrison, daughter-in-law Cara Harrison, darling grandson Damarian Harrison, co-parent and close family friend Birdie Harrison, sisters Donna Faye Stith, Darlene "Beanie" Harrison, Cecilia Rucker, Christa Rucker and Sabrina Jenkins-Smith all of Evansville Indiana, brothers Dale Cheaney of Vincennes, David Cheaney of Atlanta, Georgia, Muhammad Ali Washington of Houston Texas, Akbar Washington and Ahmed Washington of Valdosta, Georgia, Aunt Oddie Mae Stewart, Uncle James Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13th from 10 to 11 am with funeral to follow at 11 am all at Osborne Funeral Home.
