Darrius Palmer Taylor

October 26, 1990 — August 11, 2017

Darrius Palmer Taylor 26, born October 26, 1990 of Evansville, IN, transitioned from this life to go home to be in eternal glory, on Friday August 11th.
He was proceeded in death by his Big Brothers, Antwain& Marvin (Gayce) Johnson, his maternal grandparents Iola &Adra Armstead, and paternal grandparents Robert &Dorthy Taylor.
Darrius had a smile that could bring light & joy into the darkest room. He was intelligent, savvy, a character, with a huge heart. He adored his parents and his sister. Although circumstances took his oldest brothers early in his life, Darrius, Antwain, &Gayce had a bound that surpassed all understanding. A gentle giant he was one of the kindest men you would ever meet. He would get excited about road trips with his sister, mom, nieces, & nephews. They’d spend long days & nights laughing &crackin jokes with his BIG Cuz!! Always traveling to see and spend time with Marcus Beverly and Dachealle Brown. Those memories will be cherished forever.
Darrius was a great uncle. He adored his nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his nephew De’Marko, he was proud of all his accomplishments. And LOVED to see him on the football field. In many ways they were more like brothers, a role Darrius took pride in.
Darrius found even more room in his big heart when he met & fell in love with his soulmate, Robyn. She gave him the greatest gift he could’ve ever hoped for, their 2 year old son, Maxwell.
As a Core 40 graduate from Francis Joseph Reitz high school in 2009, Darrius was active in many programs that fulfilled his desire to succeed! He was specially selected to participate in a wide variety of programs, such as “People to People” and the “Diversity Committee” for the Evansville Bar Association, Boys and Girls Club,Young Life, Young Democrats, Big Brother Big Sister, and Boys Scouts. He received many awards and accolades for his dedication to academic excellence and his desire to excel beyond his peers. Also thanking Melody Sawyer for the support and love she had throughout school years.
He attended from IU, Bloomington where he studied computer science.
Darrius was loved, and his family is deeply saddened by his untimely death. However, the family stands on Psalm 30:5, “His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may endure for a night BUT JOY cometh in the morning”! Darrius accepted Christ as his Lord & Savior at the age of 6. He was grateful for the Mercy, grace, and unquestionable love God had given him through his mother, family, and friends.
Darrius has left behind family to Praise God for the 26 years they’ve had with him, his parents William (Palmer) & Glamor Taylor, his sister Wilmensha (Bull), his precious son, Maxwell Tinsley Palmer Taylor and his furry son Snowball, & soulmate Robyn Dixon. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, 6 to 8 pm and funeral service Saturday 11:00 at Memorial Baptist Church. Osborne has been entrusted with final care.
