Miss Dakia Alise Watkins

July 12, 1997 — February 18, 2023

DaKia Alise Watkins "Kia", 25 years old of Evansville, Indiana was called to her heavenly home on Saturday February 18, 2023. Kia was born on July 12, 1997, the daughter of Dwight Watkins II and Takiki Johnson.

Kia had a fun and loving spirit. Kia loved to laugh and have a good time. Her smile and laughter would light up a room. Whenever Kia was nearby, you would hear her far before you saw her. Kia was short in stature, but her presence and colorful personality demanded your attention. She loved to shop, listen to music, go places, and to eat. Kia attended John Overton High School in Nashville, TN where she lived for several years before returning to Evansville.

Kia was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Kia loved spending time with her family and friends. As a child, Kia was a daddy's girl. She was a spitting image of both her mother and father. The relationship that Kia had with her siblings was like no other. She loved and cared deeply for her siblings and her siblings cared and loved their big sister.

Kia is survived by her Father, Dwight Watkins II (Patricia); brothers, D'Vontre Watkins, D'Arion McCleary, Kyrique McCleary, Elijah Richardson, and Devon Watkins; sisters, Payton Watkins and Olivia Watkins; grandparents, Alisa White, Debra Hudson (Reuben), Dwight Watkins (Shari); along with a host of other relatives including great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents, and close friends.
