Claudetta Thomas Nunn

Claudetta Nunn born to the late Claude Irvin and Alice Thomas at Beverly Heights on Myer St., in Evansville IN., April 23, 1942 left this earth on May 29, 2015 at 1:37 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital after a long illness surrounded in the warmth and love of her family. "WE NOW KNOW THE QUEEN HAS HER CROWN"
Claudetta grew up in Beverly Heights. She attended Lincoln Clark Douglas high school. She was employed at St. Mary's Medical Center for numerous years, she also worked for Hope of Evansville as well as provided cleaning services for Al and Winona Adams. Claudetta was a foster grandparent through CAPE where she retired from at the age of 72.
At an early age Claudetta accepted Christ and became a member of Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of Rev. Douglas F. Smith now under Rev. Richard E. Pollard Sr. During her years of service she worked for the CREC center as the receptionist and the church's after school program. She was a member of the nurses guild, sang in the gospel and senior choirs, and lastly she served on the mother's board.
Claudetta in preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Patricia Thomas, Arthleen and Carol-Lee Thomas, brothers; Victor Thomas, Tolbert Jr. and Joe Nathan , great aunt & uncle that raised her, aunt Goldy and Tolbert Sr., uncle T.O. Haskins, son Darryl Foster and nephew Ty Wayne Thomas.
Claudetta leaves to cherish in her memory her only aunt; Otie Mae Haskins, aunt Bertha Irvin, Aunt Honey Irvin Baxton, 5 children; Karen (Bobby) Haughton, Anthony (Jackie) Robinson, Carla (DeWayne) Robinson Gimmerson, Latonya (Rev. Eric) Poole, Carrie, Evertte (Nina) Nunn, 17 grand children, 34 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
