Charles A. Crowe was born February 29, 1944, in Evansville, IN to Charles H. Crowe and Delores Crowe. He traded his earthly labor for peace at the age of 80 years.
He graduated from Central High School in 1962. While in school he was active in basketball, softball, and wrestling. He served in the Air Force for 4 years. In 1975, he attended Lockyear College in Evansville, IN, where he maintained an A average.
Charles worked for Whirlpool Corp. until the day he retired in 2006. He was known for his humor and his talents. He was a character of his own. He knew how to make people laugh. He had a natural musical ability to play bass guitar. His thump on the strings led him to play with Blues Train/Small Train band. He performed at local events, as well as having his own personal and public jam sessions. Not only was he a musician, he also could dance. He would turn heads when he stepped on the dance floor.
He will be remembered for his life on earth and how he contributed to the lives of many. He was a good cook. He liked to laugh and make others laugh. He liked listening to music. He liked to watch sports. He liked to dance. He had his favorite organizations he would donate to.
He knew a lot of people and a lot of people knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon A. Crowe, father Charles H. Crowe, mother Delores Crowe, brother Carl H. Crowe (Detroit, MI), sister Tamara Wickware (Evansville, IN).
He leaves to celebrate his life to: son, Demetrius (Bernadette) Crowe of Detroit, MI, daughter, Juanesa (Greg) Crowe-Gayles of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren of Detroit, MI, Demetrius Crowe, Twan Crowe, Demetria Crowe, Ashley Benson, Michae'la Crowe, Tamina Long (Terre Haute, IN), great grandchildren, aunt, cousins, and nephew.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 3,2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. and the funeral beginning at 11 a.m. all at Locust Hill Cemetery Chapel.
