Charles was born to the late Fredonia Berry-McKnight anP.M.d Carl Alston on May 11, 1938, in Evansville, IN. He passed away on June 1, 2021, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Charles went to Chestnut-Walnut grade school. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956, where he played varsity basketball. In 1956, Charles joined the Air Force and served 4 years where he was honorably discharged. He returned to Evansville and was employed by the city. He then moved to St. Louis, employed at Chrysler Motor Manufacturer. Charles moved back to Evansville and was employed at Alcoa Warrick operations, retiring after 33years. He was loyal in paying his dues, He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 104. He will be greatly missed.
Besides his parents, Charles was proceeded in death by his brothers; David McKnight, Claude Allen McKnight, and Dennis McKnight.
Charles is survived by his daughter; Kerranata Berry-Mickens (Larry), sons; Ricardo Berry, Ondra Berry (Margo), Charles Berry Jr. (Karla), Christopher Berry, and Charleston Berry (LaLa), sisters; Lila Mae McKnight-Harris, Susie McKnight-Smith, and brother; Darrell F. McKnight I. and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
