Cassandra Bridget Mitchell also known as “Lady” born in Greenville, MS. On July 9, 1964 sadly passed away November 1, 2019 while at her home. She moved to Chicago at the age of 2 with her mother Betty Jean Strong andstepfather Luchis C. Strong.
She went to Dyett Elementary School in 1976 and attended Dusable High School in 1983 for 4 years. She later attended PTC Career Institute and became an advanced nursing assistant. She worked for a number of years for nursing homes around Chicago.
Lady loved being with her grandkids, who she would call her kids. She enjoyed friends and family, cooking and music, from the likes of Michael Jackson and Prince.
She had one daughter; Sheketa Mitchell, 3 grandkids; Shyann Mitchell, Camiya Mitchell, and Michael Lee III , 3 sisters; Yorlanda Strong, Brenita Strong, and Telly Strong. 3 brothers Michael Mitchell, Reginald Strong, June Strong Jr. Nieces; Lataska Christophe, Janiya Johnson, and Sanaa Killingsworth Nikita Coleman, Tiffany Barnum, nephews; Chance Love, Pierre Strong and Gerod Strong, Tremayole Cooper-Gilbert. Great nieces and nephews; Santanna Moultrie, Fre’Driquez Scott, Mali’Kye, Pierre Brown, Omaria Strong and host of uncles, aunts, cousins
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 from 1 tp 2pm with memorial service to begin at 2pm at Osborne Funeral Home.
