Carolyn "Puddin" Louise Young

Carolyn Louise Gilbert Young, 71, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, June 23,2026 in Henderson, Ky. She was born to Thurman “Pete” Gilbert Sr. and Arabella” Kitty” Bushrod Moore on April 30,1955.

Carolyn also lovingly known as “Puddin” loved her family; she cherished all her moments with them. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Being a homemaker, she had a remarkably close relationship with her children, and her sons made sure that she was well taken care of. When her husband Darrell was alive you never seen one without the other, she was always with him as a devoted and supportive wife.

She enjoyed watching television in her spare time, especially soap operas. She enjoyed her special social outings and listening to old school R&B music, like Aretha Franklin and Curtis Mayfield. Carolyn found her most joy being at home and taking care of her family.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father; Thurman “Pete” Gilbert Sr.; husband, Darrell Young Sr.; daughter, Felicia Louise Gilbert; and brother David Gilbert.

She leaves her memories to her sons, George Gilbert, Darrell Young Jr., Joseph Young, mother, Arabella” Kitty” Moore, brothers, Thurman Gilbert Jr. (Patricia), John Gilbert, George Gilbert (Rozel), Clifford Gilbert (Tina), sisters Mary Gilbert, Mildred Cleo Robertson, sister-in-law. Amber Gilbert, grandchildren, De’Heaven De’ Angelo Gilbert, Tautyanna Gardener and three great grandchildren.
