Carolyn Carr, known lovingly by her family and friends as Carolyn, was born on July 11, 1955, in Orlando, Florida, and passed away on May 5, 2026, in Ocala, Florida.
Carolyn lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion, and a generous heart. She was a woman who found her greatest joy in the comfort of home and in the company of those she loved most. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, she built her life around family and the simple but meaningful acts of care that made others feel welcomed, fed, and loved. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones, and she made her home a place of warmth, peace, and belonging.
She loved to cook for her family, and her meals were an expression of the love she carried in her heart. Through her kindness and her steady presence, she created memories that will be treasured for generations. Carolyn was quiet by nature, a homebody who preferred the comfort of familiar faces and the joy of family gatherings. Those who knew her will remember her as a person who was kind, generous, and loving, always willing to help anyone in need.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Melantha Cox and her husband Lewis, Vanessa Johnson, and Dwayne Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Mary Johnson and her husband Lefenus, and her brother, Lajerald Carr. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jasmine Woolfolk and Leland Cox, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jaland Woolfolk-Jones, Bray'Auna Rose Lee Jones, Mailani Onea Catrice Jones, Abigail Rose Cox, and Kai Douglas Woolfolk. She is further survived a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramer and Rosie Lee Carr, and by her brothers, Roy Edward Carr, Bobby Charles Carr, and her twin brother, Carl Carr. Their memory remained an important part of her life, and she carried her family ties with pride and devotion throughout her years.
Carolyn’s life was a reflection of love in its purest form. She did not seek attention or praise, but instead offered care through her actions, her presence, and her unwavering support of those around her. Her family will remember her gentle spirit, her loving nature, and the comfort she gave simply by being herself. The lessons she leaves behind are found in the meals she prepared, the kindness she showed, and the many lives she touched with her quiet grace.
Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the example she set will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration. Carolyn Carr will be remembered with affection, gratitude, and enduring love.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Ted and Diane Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield, Florida for their excellent care.
