Carey R. Knuckles, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at home. He was surrounded by family. He was born in Tyronza, AR., on May 4, 1946 to the late Joseph Sr and Odesser (Burns) Knuckles, and was the eighth of seventeen children. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church in Tyronza, AK.. He relocated to Racine, WI., where he stayed for awhile, from there relocated to Evansville, IN., in the 70’s.
He was member of Memorial Baptist Church where he was a greeter. He joined the Local 103 Iron Workers in 1980 until he retired in 2008.
He loved to fish, hunt, barbeque, and work with his hands to build things, but most of all he loved to be with his family and friends.
Carey was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Odesser Knuckles Sr., sister Emma Knuckles, brothers, Deacon Joseph Knuckles Jr., Rev Tommie Lee Knuckles, and Samson “Sam” Knuckles.
He leaves to cherish he memory, his wife of 24 years;Cheryl A. Knuckles, children, Classie(Chris) Norfleet. Chrissy (Brandon) Behme, Sheryl (Terry) Sahadeo of Texas, Thelma (Dwayne) Redd and Kla-Neshia Gray. He has 25 grandkids an 2 great grand kids, sibling: Sammy (Emma)Smith of Oxford, Johnnie B Knuckles of Oakland, GA, Louise Smith of Racine, WI., Ora Gray of Racine, WI., Earl Knuckles of Racine, WI., Ruby Buckingham of Antioch, CA., Classie West of Racine, WI., Dorthy (Willie) Burnett of Anniston, AL., Altoria Edwards of Racine, WI., Jeff Knuckles of Racine, WI., Odesser (Greg) Maxie on Vallejo, CA., and Harvey Knuckles of Quimper, France, uncles: Rev. Alfred (Fannie) Burns of South Carolina, and Dan Burns of Racine, WI.; aunts Edna (Aaron) Baker of San Leandro, CA.,; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral Service will be held Friday 11 am at Memorial Baptist Church
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday at Osborne Funeral Home
