Brenda Elizabeth Murry-Pittman, 78, transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Brenda was born on September 10, 1945, to Leonard Murray Sr. and Lucille Osborne in Evansville, Indiana.
Brenda also affectionally known as "Bre Bre" was well known and loved by everyone. Brenda graduated from Bosse High School “Class of 63”. She went on to attend Evansville School of Practical Nursing, as well as Federal City College for two years. Brenda had worked in several roles after college. She was a LPN at Welborn Hospital, worked in the Office of Minority Affairs at the White House, she was Director of community service for the Evansville Housing Authority, worked youth at the United Methodist Youth Home, and Marketing for Casino Aztar. This is just to name a few, and her resume goes on.
Brenda was very big on family; she treasured them and always wanted them to know the history of where they came from. You never seen her without a smile, she would always greet you with “How you doing’. Brenda was known in the community; she volunteered her time to many causes. She tutored children and tried to expose them to things outside their neighborhood. Serving and supporting her community gave her great joy. She served as a member of the Human Relations Commission. Brenda lived a rich life; she met many movie stars and presidents. Brenda was a socialite of Evansville. She didn’t miss many events that were going on in town. She liked to dress and be out on the town. She never met a stranger and would talk with you as if you knew you all her life. She enjoyed going to meet-ups at Golden Corral and fellowshipping with her friends. Brenda was an Evansville Otters Fan and liked to attend games with her husband, Bruce. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Brenda is preceded by her parents, her husband; Bruce” Secret Weapon” Pittman, sisters Janie Baxton and Deanie Thurston, and brother Leonard Murray, Jr.
Brenda leaves great memories to her son; Stephen Pettross and his wife Lori adopted children; Adriel Hillman, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of cousins, extended family, and friends
