Betty Elam Allen age 96 passed away peacefully on February 1 ,2021. Betty, was born on June 29, 1925 to the late Alonzo Ross and Anna Belle (Garrett) Elam in Clarksville, TN. As a young woman, Betty relocated to Evansville, IN where she met and married to Abe Allen Jr. for 68 years. From their union, they were blessed with five children. Betty retired from Whirlpool Corp. in 1990 after 20 years.

She was a faithful and dedicated member of Independence Baptist Church for over 65 years serving on the kitchen committee. Betty enjoyed being with family and hosting her famous Sunday dinners. She also enjoyed traveling and bowling.

Betty leaves to her cherish memory her three daughters; Barbara Jones of Evansville, IN; Ruth Carter of Gallatin, TN and Betty Sue (Harold) Nelson of Olathe, KS. Two sons; James Richard (Mary Sue) Allen, and John Allen both of Evansville, IN. Sister Rebecca Hedgeman of Evansville, IN. 9 grandchildren and 21 great-great grandkids. A special God given-“Son” Pastor Gerald Arnold, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be Sunday 4 to 6pm at Osborne Funeral Home, funeral service will be Monday 11:00am at Osborne Funeral Home.
