Barbara Jean Warfield, born August 1, 1942 in Evansville, IN was an amazing mother, sister, daughter, and child of the Most High God! Barbara Jean was born and reared in a loving home with her family. The home in which she was born is where New Hope Baptist Church is currently located. Barbara learned about the saving grace of Jesus, accepted Him as her Savior and was baptized at New Hope as a young child. On the morning of December 3, 2019 Barbara heard the voice of her Savior calling her to enter into His Bosom for eternal rest from the strife and struggles of this world.
Barbara Jean was a product of Lincoln Elementary and High School. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and later in life affiliated with Memorial Baptist Church. Growing up in the church, Barbara sang in the young peoples choir, was an active Sunday School and Baptist Training Union participant. She absolutely loved gospel music. Her very favorite hymn was “Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior.” Anyone who ever heard her sing it knew she was calling on her Lord to hear her humble cry!
