Anthony "Tony" Russell Noble

December 7, 1959 — August 7, 2017

Anthony Russell Noble aka “Tony”, 57, was the eldest son of loving parents, George and Bertha Noble. He entered the world on December 7, 1959 in Evansville, Indiana. Tony was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves his great and wonderful memories to daughter, Angel Marie Noble; brother, Dwayne Noble; “special” sister, Cheryl Watkins (“Cookie”); aunts, Betty Morgan (Robert), Shirley Wilson, Marilyn Henson; nephew, Raum Sandoval, many beloved cousins and numerous special friends.

Tony never met a stranger. His gregarious and jubilant personality allowed him to meet and befriend many people. Growing up,Tony had a big heart and would always bring new friends home to share food, toys and the love of his family. Many people loved Tony and shooting the breeze with him. He wasn’t a stranger to anything and he was always true to what he knew.

God blessed Tony with many talents. He had a beautiful singing voice where he displayed this growing up and participatedin a talent showand activities at Stanley Hall School. He inherited his singing voice from his Mom, Bertha. Tony excelled in running track and other track events such as pole vaulting. He was very smart and once wrote a poem that was published in the Evansville Courier newspaper. He attended William Henry Harrison High School.

But the talent he was most known for was playing basketball. He loved playing basketball and he was a great basketball player. His Dad, George had put a basketball court in their backyard so Tony could continue to sharpen his basketball playing skills. This is where all of his friends would gravitate to. When Tony played basketball games in eighth grade, he had college coaches attending to watch his games because they knew he had the potential and capabilities to make it to the NBA. He received a basketball scholarship and attended college in downstate Illinois and on the East coast. He and his friends played in the Evansville Agoga tournament which included college and ex-NBA players. He had the opportunity to go to Europe to play basketball but decided he did not want to go that far away from home.
