Frances Bertha Watkins,83 passed away peacefully on March 4,2015 at the Downtown Deaconess Hospice with her husband at her side. Frances was born December 6,1931 to the late Will and Blanche Nesbitt, in Bruceton, TN.
Frances graduated from Webb High School, McKenzie, TN where she and her team won a basketball championship, before moving to Evansville.
She had work at Exlon Rain Coat Factory in Mount Vernon ,IN and she had worked for various families including the Schulthis family, Judge Robert Lensing and numerous doctors. She was also a cook at the downtown Evansville Store and she was an avid Bingo Fan.
Frances was a devoted faithful member of St James Missionary Baptist Church where served almost 60 years as a member of the Willing Workers, Family Day Celebrations, and the Choir and various other church activites.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents ,brothers Thedford Nesbitt, Wilbur Nesbitt, James Nesbitt and Fred Nesbitt, sisters Pauline Ridley, Rose White, Grace Young and Louise Wilson, and one son Darrell Watkins.
Fran leaves to cherish many great memories her husband of 60 years Otho Phillip Watkins and sons Dwight(Shari), Dudley(Linda) and David all of Evansville, IN and one brother Henry Nesbitt(Jackie) Mt Vernon, IL , grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews , extended family and friends.
Frances loved traveling, meeting and helping people. Frances loved her family and friends to the end!
Funeral service will be held 11:00am Saturday March 14,2015 at St James Missionary Baptist Church with visitation Friday from 3 until 8 pm at Osborne Funeral Home.
